We call it Lisa Aitken Vanity Set because this was specially customized for her. Lisa reached out to us in the month of Jan’2021.
She wanted to have a vanity set with large foldable mirrors, more drawers, and a spacious stool to share with her little daughter.
It was a dream project to work on. We exchanged emails and concluded the design for the project by sharing a rough sketch of vanity with her. This happened during the second wave of the pandemic in India. Although there was a strict lockdown, our in-house artisans worked on this project. We spent around 3-4 hours everyday planning and executing this assignment. We shared regular updates with her. Trust me she is the most humbled and calm person I have ever came across. She provided us enough time to finish the project.
Handmade furniture needs time to prepare and is timeless. There are a lot of details that goes into making a perfect piece of furniture. From cutting the wood to buffing the inlay everything we do is done by hand. Each hand used in making this beautiful piece of furniture is blessed with insane craftsmanship. In April we shared the first pictures with her. It was a vanity wooden structure. It took almost two weeks to finish the woodwork. The vanity is prepared along with the foldable mirror.

After her approval, we went ahead and finished the bone inlay pattern. The vanity set was ready with the bone inlay and resin work by 20th May. But this was not all. There were many other things that required finishing. Our team worked on them. Lisa wanted a perfect grey to match her bedroom color. Before we went ahead with resin filling, we asked for pictures of her room, the curtains, and the wall. She was kind enough to share every small detail that we needed to achieve the perfect shade.
The metal stand was specially customized for this vanity set along with the stool and they were easy to assemble. The stand took almost two weeks to finish. It has a nice gold shine. They were also made using the traditional nickel coating method. This method is used to provide higher corrosion resistance and anti-tarnish properties to the metal. When finally the vanity was assembled on the metal stand along with the mirror it was breath-taking and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. A soft cushion was added to the stool and everything just seemed right. We couldn't wait to share the pictures with Lisa.
We finally finished the project in the month of June by sharing the final pictures of the entire set along with the mirror and stool. It was shipped to New South Wales, Australia. Soon after we received this beautiful message from Lisa.
This project will always hold a special place in our hearts. We were nervous, excited, and happy to explore our artistic abilities. When we create something unique it also paves a path for us to rediscover our art. Furniture design is a specialized art where function and fashion collide. Pieces of furniture not only add function and practicality to space, but they also add style and personality. With a firm understanding of your needs, careful consideration of design, and a little bit of extra time, we can create custom furniture built perfectly to fit your life.
